Most landscapes follow geometrical patterns, and all designing is done within these patterns. Since historic times, architects have depended upon geometry for designing landscape architecture.There is a precise ratio that every architect has to follow while landscape designing. Without a proportion or symmetry the plans cannot be made and a regular design cannot be formed. Most of the landscape designs if you see have conformed circular, triangular or squares patterns. The features used in these can use a symmetrical or asymmetrical pattern. However, in almost all schemes an overall element of coordination that related to geometry can be observed.

The semblance and arrangement of the elements of the landscape design are also placed in such a way so that it suits the overall construction. Landscape designs are always planned to add value to the main object that is the building. Today, in modern landscape architecture, architects use statues, ponds, Zen gardens and many other concepts. All these can be incorporated to suit the overall appearance of the main subject. The main subject is always the building that was constructed first.

When you observe nature you can see the geometrical symmetry everywhere around you. For some geometry is a cosmic science. Even the trees and the mountains conform to certain geometrical shapes. Even the constellation of stars forms a geometrical pattern. Geometry, in fact, is not new, and people always have used it knowingly or unknowingly. Without geometry architectural designs cannot be planned.
