Modern architecture in a way has more of a centralized concept.Architecture has been existent ever since humans started making buildings. Ancient civilizations had their own unique style of constructing buildings like temples, mosques and churches. They discovered various materials and styles for developing the buildings. For example, the Middle Eastern cultures built almost all their buildings with domes and minarets. Also, you will find the same kind of architecture if you were to go to other places that were invaded by the Middle Eastern rulers.

Some of the most popular types of architectures in the world are Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Harappa and Mohenjadaro civilizations architecture, European and Indian. Among these, the Indian architecture and Egyptian architecture are very unique to their own land, and the same type of architecture cannot be found in any other country. In different parts of Asia, the Buddhist architecture is quite evident.

In ancient times architecture was mainly used to enhance the natural environment and also most of the monuments that were constructed were by using the local material available. However, some complicated buildings and monuments were constructed in Egypt even when the materials were not found locally. For example, the Pyramids were built on a desert and most of the material including the huge stones was imported.

Today, even landscape architecture is one type of architecture. Landscape architecture is the method of planning, designing and constructing the spaces around the building so that it improves aesthetically. Materials like plants and trees are used in such a way so that they increase the beauty of the place, and also the site is developed practically.
