In mechanical engineering, a student will have to study physics, mathematics and material science. It is basically a study of power like mechanical and kinetic power. The study of mechanical engineering became official and was introduced in the colleges of England in the early 19th century. Eventually mechanical engineering also branched out into electrical and automobile engineering. However, the core concepts are still from the mechanical engineering faculty. Mechanical engineering became popular with time as there was a rise in demand for people who have studied it during the Industrial Revolution.
