There are several types of engineering to study these days. |
Also, in some types of engineering, science and mathematics have merged together. Engineering study is grouped based on the area of application of the knowledge that is being gained. There are nearly 200 types of engineering. However, most of them are branched out from the main types of engineering, which are only a handful. They are as follows:
All these types of engineering are further branched into various subtypes of engineering. Civil engineering can be further branched out into structural engineering for example. So, people who want to study structural engineering should choose the main course as civil engineering and then they can specialize in structural engineering.
Chemical engineering and biological engineering or genetic engineering is also a type of engineering, but they involve the study of medicine and human body also. Engineers in this respect do not typically work in the medical industry directly or interact with treating humans, but they do get involved in research and designing of various treatments and medications.
Engineering concepts are even used to design satellites although this is a different area of work altogether. Aeronautics is also a type of engineering, and in this student will learn about designing aircrafts and also nature.
