The Palestinian archaeology gives information on the earliest Stone Age people. The archaeological study performed in the southern Levant is also referred to as Syro-Palestinian archaeology. The use of Palestinian archaeology is commonly seen in Stead, mainly in the investigation centers on prehistoric Palestine. |
Ancient Palestine reflects improved understanding on the past of people in the Stone Age era rather than its importance in the discipline of biblical archaeology. The Syro-Palestinian archaeology encompasses the geographical reach in central-southern Palestine and Syria and the ancient “Greater Canaan”, or better known as the east and west of Jordan River. This were of greater importance in the ancient times and today, in the modern world, they are known as Jordan, the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, Israel and some regions of Syria.
The land bridge linking the lands of Africa and Asia in the southern Levant’s geographical location has provided the support to conclude the life in that era. Its closeness to the ancient civilizations in the near East and Africa has cooperated in figuring out the history and social change in the area that existed over one million years ago. The term Syro-Palestinian is often referred by the archaeologists in southern Levant than the archaeologists in Syria because of its connection with the African and the Asian continents.
The Palestinian archaeology explains more about the Stone Age rather than biblical archaeology as it was thought of. In other areas of studies of the field, the Syro-Palestinian archaeology is not put forward as it is marked by a grade of animosity. Archaeologists who have related the Syro-Palestinian historical documents with biblical scriptures are attacked by the conventional technical archaeologists who do not see any compatibility between the Palestinian archaeology and biblical records by the excavations carried out. This has created a definitive split and dispute amongst the Syro-Palestinian archaeologists and biblical archaeologists.More Articles :
