All the rulers in the past of Korean history were enthusiasts about art and culture and appreciated development in the same to make it more charismatic. The culture followed in South Korea is derived from the customary Korean culture. Buddhism and Confucianism to a great extent have inspired the South Korean art and culture, which is apparent in their costumes, houses, traditions, beliefs, and architecture. Modern South Korean artists integrated traditional Korean style with Western style to create ingenious work. The mixture of Korean and Western art of the twentieth century can be seen in the National Museum of Contemporary Art situated in South Korea.
The South Korean tune comprises of court or folk music that is serious and slow. Generally the folk songs played express the outlook and sentiments of the working class.
