If you want to paint your room according to a particular theme, make sure that the background remains white. Neutral colors give you a lot more flexibility giving the pictures a “real” appearance. Dark and light hues will remarkably stand out on white backgrounds. Firstly, paint your wall white. Then, decide about a particular theme or design you wish to have on your wall. If you like flowers, then neatly sketch out different types of flowers on the walls. You can either form a specific pattern in ascending or descending order. You can also paint a bunch of flowers together on one side. Add foliage and tendrils on the sides. Make sure they look like they are protruding out from the corners of the petals. Paint the remaining part of the walls with tiny individual flowers to give it a scattered appearance.

If you are a nature lover, then paint the base of the wall in different shades of blue to create an “ocean” like appearance. For the top layers, add a little bit of white paint to give it a sunny appearance. Sketch out different sea creatures and paint them below. Remember that the deeper you go inside an ocean, the darker it gets. So, add black paint as you go further down to give a dark blue appearance.

Observe the pictures in magazines or newspapers. Check out for the shadings. The way you shade the picture will determine how real or fake the scene looks. Give importance to those minute details.
