Here are some things you would need for making your own basketball court:

• Outdoor paint (colors of your liking)
• Tape measure
• Chalk
• String measuring about 19 feet, 9 inches long and chalk piece tied to one end
• Paint brush
• Painters tape
• Plumb bob
• Ladder

Use a measuring tape and mark the dimensions of the court. Take accurate measurement and also plan according to the space you have. Put some markers like bobs to identify the marking later. Measure about 6 feet from the center of the rim that you have marked, and make another marking or an outline here. The lane has to be outlined here. Also do the same form the other side and the total width of the lane should be twelve feet. Draw another thirteen feet from the front of the rim, and this will form the free throw line. Remember that the baseball field will be in the shape of a diamond over all. In between you will have a rectangular part actually. Start connecting the lines and complete the lane by joining all the four corners.

Take a string and measure about six feet from the marked line and mark the middle point also. Draw an arc on the other corner of the lane in order to mark the free throw arc. You can either draw one straight line or a dotted line.
