Paints come in all colors, varieties and texture. Painting is not something new to this world. Primitive paints were actually made of vegetable oils and colors and perhaps they were much better than the oil based paints that we get today. Until a few decades ago most of the paints had gasoline products and lead in them. However, after extensive research in the medical industry, it was decided that lead can be poisonous and harmful for people the paint industry has been banned from using lead in paint. It is the lead in the paint that gives the soft and smooth texture. |
These days paints still have petroleum products but most companies add several additives to avoid the smell of the paint. The paints in modern day world are very advanced. They do not smell and most of them have passed safety standards. Paints can contain several chemicals like zinc oxide, potassium hydroxide and resins and line seed oil. All these are some of the main ingredients of any paint available.
Some of the paints offer extra smooth texture and such paints often have more complicated chemicals in them. An organic form of paint may not last very long on your walls and they tend to chip off too. Some of the stain-free forms of paints have some lead or mercury in them. They also contain synthetic materials used in the clothing industry so that they are capable of giving the walls an ultra smooth texture. Indoor paints are also very different from the outdoor varieties.
