Kids also wonder about sun, moon and the stars. There are several interesting facts about the Solar System that kids could learn and explore. A museum or a planetarium is a nice place to start learning about the Solar System but even reading about it can be very interesting. |
The Solar System is a place that is full of stars, planets and moons and there are more like asteroids, comets and more objects. If the earth has one moon, then Jupiter has 16 moons. The Solar System is made of hundreds of planets and they all orbit the sun. The universe is an expanding place and there is no end to it actually. The sun being a very big planet has nearly 98 percent of the stuff that universe has in terms of gases and particles. The larger the planet the more the gravity it has. Since the sun is a very big planet all other planets are revolving around the sun because of its gravitational force.
However, planets which are moving very fast tend to gravitate away from the sun. The planets are trying to get away from the sun and the sun s pulling them towards it and as a result they end up orbiting around the sun.
The Solar System came into existence because a giant cloud full of various gases collapsed because of the weight and its own gravity. This theory is popularly known as the big bang theory. The Solar System and its various planets and stars are very interesting to study and each planet has its own miraculous existence.
