Astronomy is defined as a science that investigates the physical matter and energy that is responsible for the distribution of the Universe and also studies the movements, composition and evolution of the universe. |
Distribution means that every planet has a unique position and the matter is arranged in a specific way. The movements mean the physical change in location of the galaxy or the planet. There are several more physical features used to study the existence of the universe and for studying the universe a person has to have the knowledge of physics.
Studying the universe would mean that the person should be very good in calculations because they have to start suing very complicate theorems and equations. A person who studies the universe is called an astronomer. The most popular organization that is involved in the study of the universe is NASA.
Astronomy has advanced to such an extent that scientists have even found out what is there in mars and people are planning to discover of ways to visit the planet. Astronomers know the physical and chemical composition of most of the existing planets in the Universe and they can also accurately pin point to the size and the weight of the planets.
Astronomy is a science and it is very interesting. A lot of people confuse astronomy with astrology but they both are quite different. Astronomy is completely based on facts and figures and none of the findings are ever ambiguous. Because of the various advances in astronomy people are now able to go to the moon.
