Every culture has its own way of predicting future and own theories in astrology. Even astrology like astronomy studies about the characters of the planets and the position and various other aspects. However, the study of astrology is limited to the sun, moon and the nine planets. They do not depend on galaxies or the Milky Way or the comets and so on. At the most astrological sciences may involve studying about the eclipses.

Astronomy is a much more complicated science than astrology. Astronomy involves studying the physical and chemical properties of the universe and the Solar System. It studies about various planets and their physical properties. Astronomy has nothing to do with predictions but everything to do with the make and existence of the Solar System. Astronomy uses complicated calculations to arrive at the facts. Astrology can be very ambiguous and is not based on facts whereas astronomy is completely factual.

Astronomers observe planets and calculate their weight and size. They also determine if life can exist on various planets. However, people do often confuse both these sciences when one does not have any correlation with the other.
