The Big Bang Theory Objectives
The Big Bang theory is one of the best possible explanations we have about how the universe came into existence. The first person to suggest the theory was George Gamov in 1948. According to his theory, the universe emerged from one very dense and hot point, and it could have happened nearly 13.7 billions years ago. This point was explained as singularity. However, there are no precise facts like temperature and the size of this point that could explain the theory further. |
Physicists who believed and studied this theory further started coming up with more logical explanations like that there was one huge cloud of gases and this cloud was like a balloon. The balloon started expanding and began to release smaller volumes of gases into the atmosphere. When they were released these gas masses traveled at full speed until they lost their velocity. The Big Bang theory could have taken place over a period of several years and it is definitely not an explosion like what people think.
The main objective of the Big Bang theory was not to defy the church and its beliefs, or write off the concept that God created the universe. The Big Bang was mainly found to give a possible explanation about how the universe could have come to existence. However, several scientists have questioned the concept of singularity that how one single point could have created time, space, and the universe. There is no possible explanation for this aspect of the theory according to the singularity theory.
