When we see the sky with our naked eye, the stars seem to be motionless points, but today we know that these stars could be planets or a part of a galaxy. Stars come in different sizes and they are all balls of gases. Some can be a big cluster put together. Many stars are much bigger than the earth itself.

Nebulas are not planets nor are galaxies and they just huge masses of space. A nebula is a mixture of gases like hydrogen and helium and they also have some plasma and dust. The Hubble space telescope can capture the real images of the nebula and it highlights the helium gases in the nebula.

The word nebula means a cloud in Latin and that is exactly what it looks like. A nebula can also mean mist and sometimes it looks like a cloud of mist. The galaxy andromeda was first thought of as a cloud but later it was discovered that it is a galaxy it has several stars in it. The Orion nebula is one of the most popular ones belongings to the Orion belt. It looks very small to the naked eye but it is more than sixty light years away from us. Nebulae form as a result of a giant star going supernova over a dwarf star.
