The term biology is a universe of information, and there are several branches within it. Biology is mainly to do with the entire world and its evolution. Some of the core life processes are studied as a part of this science. There are major branches, and also sub branches of the studies. Overall, biology is the science of the study of all the living organisms on the planet. |
For example, anatomy is a branch of zoology that studies the body of all living things from the inside. Bacteriology is the study of bacteria and their various effects. Biochemistry is a branch that studies the chemical processes that goes on inside the living organisms and beings.
Physics and chemistry are an integral part of biology, and using these branches of science several aspects of biology can be studied. For example, in order to understand the chemical processes within the human body, one needs to know chemistry. All the subjects of science go hand in hand actually.
Some of the major branches of biology are marine biology, botany, zoology, genetics and ecology. Each of these major biological sciences further deals with various aspects within their spectrum. Like marine biology would study about all the living creatures in the ocean and water bodies. It also studies the chemical and physical properties of the water bodies and how it affects the living organisms.
There is a branch of biology that study extinction of a specific species like dinosaurs for example. This branch is called paleontology.
