A biologist is a scientist who studies biology and its various branches. No single biologist can be involved in all the aspects of the study. One may choose to specialize in a certain aspect, and continue with it. For example, a person studying zoology, which is a branch of biology, can be called a zoologist. |
A biologist works with the living organisms or beings closely in order to study about them. The research and scientific gatherings would help the scientist to improve the condition for living beings, and also make important discoveries that would be beneficial for mankind.
Some of the different types of biologists are zoologists, botanists, marine biologists, anthropologists, paleontologists and many more. Most of the studies related to biology include research and development. It may be finding cures for diseases or it could be about studying the ecology or about extinction. There have been several biologists since times unknown.
One of the most important biologists whose studies benefited the whole world is Charles Darwin. His studies and discoveries have led to several more valuable discoveries in the field of evolution. Aristotle was the earliest known biologists of all. Some of the biologists of the modern centuries were:
Humayun Abdul Ali and Salim Ali - Ornithologist
Henry Adams - Naturalist
Carl Adolph Agardh - Botanist
Michael Andensen - Naturalist
There is hundreds of more who are considered important for their findings. Today, if we know the cure for various diseases and how to protect ourselves from climate changes is all because of the biologists. They may be botanists, zoologists or ecologists, but their contributions are the most valuable.
