The cells inside the body of living organisms are studied under a microscope. Organisms may be anything from insects to plants to humans, or even viruses and bacteria. Also, biologists study about the natural world, and how it has evolved.

Therefore, there are many kinds of jobs that you can get with a biology degree. However, biologists may not study about everything, but can specialize in certain aspects or branches of biology. There are several of them like oceanography, environmental, molecular and botany. For example, a microbiologist studies about microscopic organisms including viruses and bacteria. If there is a new disease, they study about the virus or bacteria group that is causing it, and observe the organism's behavioral patterns. These studies are crucial for developing a cure and controlling the disease.

A molecular biologist studies the molecules and the composite nature of living organisms. By studying about molecules, they can give solutions to several inherent problems. Every research done by a biologist has a beneficial and productive outcome.

A biologist’s salary may vary widely depending on the nature of the job and the responsibilities. However, most biologists always work in a team, and are a part of research group. Some biologists' work profiles involve traveling, especially those involved in the fields of nature and oceanography. However, most research jobs are based out of a lab unless the work has anything to do with observation of living beings.

You can also teach biology to students in a school with a biology degree. However, again your salary will be dependent on the kind of school you teach in and its policies.
