Collision theory is a part of chemistry that studies about the collision properties of two things like metals, substances, or chemicals. Collision always result in an explosion, and it is mainly due to the unlike properties contained in both the groups. Two metals or chemicals that do not get along, end up in a collision.

Collision mainly takes place due to the reactions in temperature, concentration of substances and the interaction of molecules. Collision theory studies in detail about these aspects, and why the collision is taking place.

Whereas chemistry is a bigger branch of studies and collision theory is just a minute branch. Chemistry deals with everything from atoms to molecules to bigger metals and their interaction with various other substances. When two molecules interact with each other either they will amalgamate and absorb each others properties or become repulsive after colliding. Either of it can happen. Chemistry analyzes why such reactions take place by studying the individual properties of these substances.

Why does studying collision theory help? It helps because when people know how two different substances or chemicals react with each other, they can make use of their properties. That is how fuel becomes petrol, or oil is derived and coal is used for electricity. If people did not known about the properties of various substances present in the nature around them, then they would not be able to use anything. Also, collision is something that takes place unanimously, and all the particles causing it have to be present at the same time. This takes evaluating and analyzing of the properties at a certain given point of time.
