The periodic table in chemistry is a table that groups all chemical elements. There are nearly 117 elements that are represented in a chemical table. Chemistry students will have to learn the periodic table so that they can group the chemicals more easily. It is useful for studying chemistry, physics and biology, and also various other sciences if they learn this table. |
However, though learning this table has several benefits, it is not easy to remember all of them. There are some easier ways to practice and learn the periodic table though.
Every element is represented by a symbol of capital letters and an atomic number. The easiest way to learn and remember these chemical names is by making flash cards of their atomic formula. Make flash cards and keep repeating the names of them until you learn to identify them at the first look.
The periodic table is grouped so that elements belonging to the same family remain within a certain part o the table. It is easier to understand the chemical properties in a group. The grouping also helps to identify the chemical properties within one look. For example all alkaline metals are grouped together. Also, tables are color coded so that you remember them more easily. There are more groups like actinoids, metalloids, halogens, transition metals and so on.
You can play online games to remember the chemical names and their groups. Several study materials also have puzzles and games for chemical names. When you repeatedly play them your memory about the chemical names becomes stronger.
