Geology is referred as the study of Earth and the materials that the earth is made up of. It incorporates the structure and the composition of these materials, as well as the processes that are known to act upon these materials. It further associates itself to the study of the organisms inhibiting the planet earth. Study of the changes experienced throughout the time in terms of the Earth’s materials, structure and the processes is one of the most important parts of geology. |

The better they understand it, the better they are able to foresee how the events and other processes of the past are likely to influence the future years. Geologists are known to work in various kinds of settings, including the natural resource companies, agencies run by the government, universities, non-profit organizations, and various environmental consulting firms.
Several geologists work in field areas for at least parts of their overall time. Others are known to spend time in laboratories, offices or the classrooms. They all prepare reports and perform calculations in order to provide sufficient and proper information regarding the various aspects of geology.
