The Native Americans are considered to be the first community to settle down on the land of United States of America, some 15,000 thousand years ago. All through the North America, there were several Native American tribes that survived on the land. There was a small tribe by the name of Algonquin Indians that resided in the northern America which were later forced to leave the land by the Iroquois tribe and then the Algonquin tribe moved away towards north where they were unable to grow crops as it was too cold at the north. |
Later, two Frenchmen discovered the land (America), but are not considered as the first settlers. Christopher Columbus, after year 1492, a young boy from Italy, who spent half of his life at sea wandering for new places, is the first recorded voyager who landed to North America. Columbus thought that the piece of land is a western route to enter East Indies. The news spread across Europe like a wildfire that a new route to the East Indies is discovered. All European countries started sending explorers to the newly founded land in search of noble metals like gold and silver with other valuables. Soon it was understood by many explorers that Columbus founded North America and not route to East Indies.
The First Queen of England Elizabeth I started sending people to colonize in North America. This happened somewhere around in 1580, when people from Britain started coming to North America and finally succeeded in 1587 to form a colony. A series of battles started to procure the land of America first between the French and British near the beginning of 16th Century and then the Indian-French war during the period 1754-1763. After this, started the American Revolution from the year 1775 which is considered as the most significant battles in the American history. At that time some parts of the American Continent were under the British and a few under the French rule. George W. Washington became the first president of the United States after the American Revolution ended in the year 1789.More Articles :
