When you are about to learn a second language first choose a language that is popular, and one that will be helpful for you from the future point of view. For example, learning Spanish in the United States is beneficial for you because several people are of Spanish origin in the country, and it is becoming mandatory for several companies to provide support in Spanish language also. There are several jobs with a Spanish profile in different arenas of business. |
Set a realistic expectation for yourself when you begin to learn the language. See that the progress is gradual, and always have a target. If you want to finish learning how to talk within a year, then plan your lessons accordingly. Use several flash cards while learning words.
Learning a language is to be done systematically. So, based on the time you have, divide the lessons into smaller chunks. When you learn smaller lessons, you tend to remember more. Also, take your time in learning the vocabulary. Understand the meaning of every word; find out what the future tense and past tense of the word is; and also learn in what contexts it can be used.
One single language can be spoken in several ways, and there will be colloquial references also to it. However, it is not possible to learn a language perfectly unless you live in the native country. If you are really inclined to proceed further with your learning, then you can enroll in a professional institute and continue with your passion.
