Music is an essential part of the tender age of any baby. Every child enjoys music of some kind and it is fascinating to see how they react to them. These music and sounds can come from anywhere, be it from the audio players or from the out of tune parents. But early introduction to music is far more than just entertaining a child. It forms the base for their learning abilities, helps in proper development of brains, etc. |
Exposure to a variety of music to a toddler is like exposing them to a world of different tastes, smell, colors, etc. the sense of perception will develop amazingly once the child has started experiencing music right from his childhood. However, even though making the child listen to music passively is fine, like while in car, but the maximum advantage can be had when the kid is made to actually groove with the music, rock with it, feel its energy. Music like "The Wheels on the Bus," “The Itsy Bitsy Spider,” The "Hokey Pokey” or "Two Little Blackbirds," can do wonders to a child’s development.
There are numerous CDs and DVDs available in the market based strictly on music for toddlers. So now no one can complain that they do not know any children’s music or cannot sing it properly. However, sometimes it can be observed that only putting on good toddler music is not reaping the desired result. A child also needs the company of one or more of his toys, stuffed animals, etc to enjoy the music to the fullest. Moreover an active participation is also important from the parents’ side to help the toddler react to the music properly.
