Physics And Momentum

Momentum is the part of the study in physics. Several objects' movements are due to the laws of momentum. Why does an object behave in a certain way, or move in a certain direction is studied by the laws of momentum. All objects that are in motion are said to have a momentum.

Momentum in physics is a vector. It has got a size and also a direction. So, momentum is measured as the mass of the object multiplied by the velocity or speed at which the object is moving. The direction of the momentum is always the same as the direction of the object's velocity.

The laws of momentum are based on conservative physics. That is, you may have several objects that are interacting with each other, but they are not under the influence of any external force. All these objects belong to a single system.

The total momentum of the system does not change even if the momentum of the objects within the system changes.

The study of momentum is the major part of automotive studies. Everything is based on how the object moves. In classic physics, the definition of momentum is the product of mass and velocity.

Momentum is further divided into linear momentum and angular momentum. The speed or the movements of the object vary as per the directions. Motion is classified into several contexts like angular motion, circular motion and straight motion. The momentum of an object is again dependant on the type of motion in place.

Physics-Definitions      Physics is the study of inanimate objects and their behavior. It is one of the oldest forms of science known to man. There have been several famous physics experts who had their philosophical as well as their mathematical views on the subject. Renowned philosophers like Aristotle, Galileo and Socrates have also studied physics and understood the meaning of the behavior of the objects. More..
