What Is Political Science ?

In general, study of political science deals with understanding political agendas and the government as a whole.

Technically, the term 'politics' implies to decisions taken by people in the government pertaining to social and common issues. Though, informally, politics is said to take place in all kind of sectors in the society, including the various institutions and corporate offices.Politics among such sectors arises mainly due to differences in opinion between people working at the same place. The concept of political sciences started with Aristotle’s book, 'Governing and Governments'. And as of today, political science is a vast subject with many branches. In general it deals with the study of governments, how political parties are elected, how they function while they are in power, and the success of failure of the same. Other than this, political science also deals with the study of voters; the general opinion, voting mentality etc.

Study of political science has always been a source of controversies. It started with the debate whether the study of politics can actually be referred to as a science, after all politics has nothing precisely ‘scientific’ about it. In fact, if at all anything, it seems largely related to other commerce subjects.  Political science is a complicated and twisted study that involves learning great governing techniques and how the system works as a whole. But it also involves learning about the dark side of it, such as corruption and other complicated systems. But then again, not everyone handles unlimited power and authority correctly, so it has become a part and parcel of the system.
