Do Dreams Have Anything To Do With Psychology ?

Everyone dreams and, in fact, we also remember some of the dreams when we wake up. It seems like it really happened to us until we realize it was just a dream. So, what exactly are dreams and why do people dream?

Dreams are the mysterious part of the brain. Sometimes, people dream of the same things that they have been thinking of during the day time. It could be a mere perception or recap of the day that you spent before sleeping. Sometimes, dreams are very vivid and totally unrelated to life’s events. We often look for meanings of such dreams and wonder if they are premonitions.

Some psychiatrists believe that dreams have fixed meanings. Like if a person dreams about apples or oranges for example, then they are dreaming of good health. These fruits signify good health. Some modern psychologists believe that dreams are a result of random electrical activity of the brain. Brain often cleans up while you are sleeping.

Some other learned experts believe that dreams are third body travel experiences because your soul leaves your body when you sleep and it travels. Dreams are the result of the traveling of your soul.

Dreams often occur in the subconscious part of the brain. That means your memory is still functioning and that is why you are able to remember some of the dreams. Dreams can also be a part of regression into a time you may not have remembered or an event in your life which left a deep impact.

Nonetheless, some psychologists have been trying for decades to uncover the hidden meaning of dreams. Many have spent decades to get the answer as they feel that it could reveal something about the human psychology. This quest is still on.
