Social psychology is the branch of psychology that studies the relationship of an individual with a group of people. Two kinds of experts analyze this behavior, and they are sociologists and psychologists. So, in order to analyze this type of behavior, a psychologist needs a group and also an individual. |
In spite of the similarity in the subject of studies, the sociologists and psychologists widely differ in their conclusions and findings. That is because they completely disagree on each other's findings. Social psychology is very difficult to determine because the findings are never correlated and are quite different and vast.
Most psychologists have studied psychology so they tend to look at everything from a psychological point of view. They also tend to analyze how the thoughts, behaviors and feelings of the people tend to get affected because of the interactions with other people. They also analyze the immediate social situation and the interaction levels between two people. Also, most of the findings are based on laboratory experiments.
The essence of social psychology depends on the event and its impact on people. It can be a war scenario, or a calamity, or any mass disaster. Psychologists try to comprehend the effects of such situations on an individual's mind and feelings. Most of the feelings directly correspond to the emotions caused by the event. It also depends on the amount of loss the individual had to face. These findings are very helpful in determining the social personalities of people which is so different from their individual personality.
