What Is Statistics ?

Statistics is a scientific study which sues some complicated and basic mathematic principles and these principles help to collect, analyze large amounts of data in a systematic way. Statistics plays a very important role in the society because the world organizations are always collecting statistics on various things, like population, and the number of diseases and how they are having an effect on human kind.

Every kind of statistics is based on data collection and research. People spend a lot of time on collecting this type of data. Some statistical reports extend over a period of 25 years and more. Statistical formulas are then applied to the data collected and then the results are arrived at.

Statistics can be a very interesting subject to study. There are different kinds of statistical data that are collected. Almost every kind of organization or industry uses some kind of statistical data or the other.

Even experimentation depends on statistical data to an extent. Statistics is helpful to a variety of subjects like biology, economics, engineering, medicine, pubic health, marketing, education, sports, industries and psychology. Statistics is a separate branch of study which falls under mathematics. All statistical data is based on numerical values only.
